 ESPN Radio
1280 recently held the third tournament in the ESPN Radio Golf Series
presented by Budweiser Select. We are excited to say that numerous Professional’s
played as well as a number of ESPN Clients!
Also showing in the tournament were a couple of strong
local young players. Travis Bertoni (Paso High, Cal Poly) and Josh Worthen
(AG High, San Diego State)
stole the spotlight from many area Club Pros and went
toe to toe in a sudden death playoff, before Bertoni rolled in a 5 footer
for birdie on the 2nd
playoff hole for the victory with partner Mike Wozniak
of “The Sports Bite.” Ronnie DeBrum and John Ormonde won low net with a
score of 65 after a card off with Chris Corona and partner Jeff Oetman. 
Total of 80 golfers on a beautiful “Indian Summer” day at beautiful Monarch
Dunes, which was in beautiful shape and did an excellent job of hosting
this
strong tournament. Look for the next tournament in the
Golf Series in the Spring of 2007.
